My practice focuses on challenging litigation and trial work throughout the West, primarily in Utah and Western Colorado. I work with property owners, real estate developers and others with real estate matters but have handled all sorts of other cases in litigation.  I'vet tried jury trials for 30 years and am recognized by Chambers & Partners as Band 1 for Commercial Litigation. In 2011, I obtained one of the largest jury verdicts ever awarded in Utah, over $54 million in lost profit damages for my client’s resort development rights. In 2014, I represented the landlord of the Park City ski terrain in successfully terminating the lease of the prior operator, which led to Vail Resort’s combination of Park City and Canyons into the largest single ski area in the country.

I enjoy using all the tools at my disposal  to guide clients to an efficient and successful resolution of their case, whether that is a simple consult or a full-blown trial.   I've been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Products Liability Litigation. I was recently inducted as a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and am honored to have been so recognized by my peers.

I am also a leader of the legal profession, currently serving as 2017-2018 President of the Utah Bar and chairing the Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Evidence.
