The Insurance Committee and Labor & Employment Section of the Colorado Bar Association present a topical seminar on “Insurance and Employment Issues For the Coronavirus.” This will be a Lunch and Learn presentation on Thursday, April 2, 2020 from Noon to One. Learn about insurance issues for the impacts of Coronavirus but also how to protect your clients in the future. Some issues include whether businesses can recover for lost income and extra expenses under different types of business interruption coverages; proving a business interruption claim; event and travel cancellation insurance; whether exclusions for contamination (biological or pollutant) apply; and new policy forms for the risks of Coronavirus and similar viruses. Labor & Employment issues including best practices for employers in planning for the possibility that a pandemic will impact their employees and business operation, how to deal with wage and hour implications, how to handle ADA and HIPPA concerns, the application of leave and FMLA policies, restrictions on employee travel, and dealing with temporary layoffs.
