FEDERAL LIMITED APPEARANCE PROGRAM (“F.L.A.P.”)
APPLICATION FOR LIMITED FEDERAL PRO BONO COURTROOM ASSISTANCE
Volunteer attorneys through this program offer one-time, limited scope pro bono representation to pro se parties involved in civil cases for court appearances in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. After a confidential consultation, parties and volunteer attorneys will decide whether to move forward with a broader scope of representation and the terms of such representation. Volunteer attorneys are able to help with part of the case, usually in the courtroom or immediately before or after a courtroom appearance, but they do not provide continued representation. Volunteer attorneys do not handle criminal, bankruptcy, or appellate matters and do not represent pro se prisoners in civil matters. Submission of this application does not guarantee a consultation or representation arrangement.
Please do NOT submit an application without an actual date scheduled for a hearing in front of a judge.
Please submit applications as soon as possible in advance of your scheduled hearing date. Applications submitted less than 7 days in advance are not likely to be matched due to the manner of the program constraints.
