The Immigration law section focuses on building bridges between the specialty immigration bar and the broader legal community in Colorado. This includes working with attorneys in other fields such as criminal defense, federal litigation, family law, civil rights law, business law, tax law, and probate law, among others. This section includes members of the private immigration defense bar and government attorneys. The section provides CLE opportunities in all parts of immigration law and seeks to improve the professional knowledge of those working in the immigration law field and interactions that overlap in other legal areas. The section also serves as a resource to the Colorado Legislature, the bench, and to the CBA. We have a legislative specialist who tracks legislation and works with the Legislature to propose and analyze pending legislation that is directly relevant to immigrants in Colorado. The section makes legislative recommendations to the CBA Board of Governors.
